Chicago White Sox leading to an
8-2 victory..Castillo went five innings
giving up one run in the second.
He walked one while striking out five.
Castillo looks to be ready for the
season. If he can limit his walks
and strike outs he can go further
in each game. Early on in the season
without Brash and Santos this would
really help.
The Mariners had most of their
starting lineup play in this game.
Everyone had a hit except Josh
Rojas. The Mariners scored four
runs in.the first inning. Jorge Polanco
hit a double to drive in Julio for the
first run followed by Mitch Garver
driving in Polanco. Dominic Canzone
hit a home run to drive Garver and
himself in. JP Crawford and Mitch
Haniger continued hitting well
having two hits on the day.
Andre Munoz followed Castillo
getting two outs in the sixth
inning however gave up a couple
hits and a run. You have to figure
though Munoz won't pitch that
early often during the season.
In the other game Mariners won
11-7 however scored five in the
top of the ninth to win.
George Kirby went five innings
giving up five hits and three runs.
All three runs were in the second
and he gave up a two-run homer.
Emerson Hancock followed having
his worst out of the spring giving
up the other four runs. He was hit
six times in two innings. Emerson
walked two as well while only striking
out one. Having any chance to make
the opening roster he will have to
bounce back.
Ty France and Luis Urias each started
in this game. France was the only one
to get a hit from those two.
Back up catcher Seby Zavala who
isn't expected to hit well though had
his first home run of the spring with
a runner on base in the 4th inning.
Sam Haggerty had a home run in
the fifth inning. Dylan Moore continues
getting hits having one in this game
while driving in a run playing shortstop.
Tyler Locklear who will start the year
in the minors but court be on the
roster sometime in the sesson hit
a two-run homer in the 9th. Alberto
Rodriguez who played at Everett
and double A Arkansas hit a three
run homer to win the game. Alberto
may start this coming season.at
Arkansas.
Logan Gilbert is expected to start
against the Diamondbacks on
Sunday. We will see who starts
in the field in this one. Go M's.
